Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services – Woodford QLD seeks a Stores Supervisor to develop, implement, and evaluate stores practices within a correctional centre. You will oversee stock purchasing, inventory control, and prisoner services, ensuring compliance with procedures and safekeeping of assets.

Responsibilities include managing local procedures, budgeting, documentation, and audits, while coordinating with custodial operations to support daily centre needs.

Qualifications

• There are no mandatory qualifications for this position.
• Desirable certificates include Certificate of Competency Class 8-A-1 (Lift Truck) or WH&S Certification and an Australia Class LF Forklift certificate.

Responsibilities

• Develop local stores procedures in accordance with the needs of the centre, compliant to QCS procedures.
• Maintain stores procedures and documentation per QCS financial management manual and purchasing system.
• Oversee the administration of stock purchases and prisoner canteen services local procedures.
• Review and manage stock orders from all areas of the centre through the local internal system.
• Provide an auditable trail of stock orders through the inventory and stock management system.
• Manage stores budget in line with financial delegations.
• Ensure all requests for goods and services are processed promptly.
• Ensure centre documentation is archived appropriately.
• Manage control and issue of uniforms and prisoner purchasing system support services.
• Purchase, store and control inventory stock items for the centre as required.
• Maintain stock control through regular stock checks and stock takes.
• Ensure write-offs and stock discrepancies are processed per delegations.
• Ensure monthly stock accounting reports are accurate.
• Provide monthly stock and stores reports.
