Job summary

Renewal SA is seeking a Corporate Management Accountant to join the Business Planning and Partnering team in the Commercial and Business Services division. The role reports to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis and focuses on consolidated budgeting and management reporting, delivering accurate financial insights.

The ideal candidate has experience in management accounting, budgeting and reporting, with knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in management accounting, budgeting and reporting for medium to large organisations.
• Ability to prepare written reports and provide advice to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and their application.

Responsibilities

• Undertake analyses for monthly financial reports to board and executives for performance insight.
• Support preparation of five-year Budget and Monitoring System journals for State Budget submissions.
• Provide monthly variance analysis of expenditure against budget/forecast for assigned areas.
• Respond to incoming queries from government agencies and internal stakeholders.

Renewal SA has an exciting and fulfilling career opportunity for a Corporate Management Accountant to join our Business Planning and Partnering team within the Commercial and Business Services division. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the role will primarily be responsible for supporting the consolidated budgeting and management reporting activities for Renewal SA whilst preparing and delivering the analysis of accurate and insightful financial information.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake a range of analyses to be incorporated into the monthly financial reports for the board and executive to provide insight into business performance.
• Support preparation of financial information and five-year Budget and Monitoring System journals for submission to the Department of Treasury and Finance as part of the State Budget and associated processes.
• Provide financial support to assigned business areas with monthly variance analysis of expenditure against budget/forecast.
• Provide support and analysis as required for incoming queries from other government agencies and internal stakeholders.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced corporate accountant who can demonstrate experience in:

• Management accounting, budgeting and reporting in a medium to large organisation
• Preparation of written reports and advice
• Interpreting and applying Australian Accounting Standards

Demonstrated experience in the following areas is desirable but not essential:

• South Australian Government budgeting systems and processes.

Qualifications:

• Holds a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Economics
• CA/CPA qualification/s or working towards completion
