Mahlab is seeking an experienced in-house solicitor to support a broad portfolio of residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use developments. You will work closely with senior executives to advise on acquisitions, development, joint ventures and project contracts.

With 8+ years PQE in property matters, you will negotiate, draft and manage complex agreements, oversee risk, and help steer major projects from start to finish within a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years PQE in property development, construction or real estate.
• Strong negotiation and deal-making skills.
• Experience advising on acquisitions, joint ventures and project contracts.

This is an opportunity to join one of Australia's leading property developers in a broad and commercially influential in-house legal role. Working closely with senior executives and business leaders, you will become a trusted adviser across a diverse portfolio of residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use developments, helping to drive projects from acquisition through to delivery and beyond.

The work is varied, strategic and genuinely connected to the business. You will advise on major property acquisitions, development and joint venture arrangements, construction and consultancy contracts, project financing, leasing, sales and marketing initiatives, governance, and regulatory matters, as well as the day-to-day legal issues that arise across a large and sophisticated development business. You will have the opportunity to contribute to key commercial decisionswhile helping manage risk in a pragmatic and solutions-focused way.

We are interested in lawyers with around 8+ years' PQE who have built strong experience in property development, construction, or broader real estate matters, either in private practice or in-house. You will be a confident communicator, a skilled negotiator and someone who enjoys partnering with stakeholders to find practical commercial outcomes. Experience with construction disputes or project-related risk matters will be highly regarded.
