As a Catholic, not-for-profit organisation, we invest improving patient care, advancing technology and facilities, expanding services, and providing vital social outreach programs that assist people experiencing disadvantage.

About the role

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced IT leader to oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of critical corporate application systems across St John of God’s Finance, Rostering, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Payroll services.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, effectiveness, and efficiency of these platforms, while driving service enhancements that meet the current and future need of St John of God Health Care.

Leading a team of skilled Information Technology professionals, you will provide operational leadership, support strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

You will build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure the successful delivery, performance, and ongoing development of SJGHC's corporate platforms and application systems.

The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

Manage application system resources, support arrangements, and future workforce planning, while assessing, coordinating, and implementing changes to ensure the ongoing stability, performance, and continuous improvement of corporate applications.

Manage application support budgets, licensing, vendor contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring effective governance, cost management, compliance, and performance reporting across the application portfolio.

Provide strategic leadership and management of corporate platforms and applications, ensuring they remain secure, reliable, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities and future business needs.

Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to support collaboration, interoperability, system optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead, develop, and support application services teams, managing resources, contractors, performance, training needs, and the delivery of high-quality support services.

Oversee the implementation, enhancement, and governance of corporate systems, including policy development, project delivery, change management, documentation, and version control.

Monitor service delivery, manage issues and escalations, track progress against delivery timelines, and provide reporting and service improvement recommendations to drive operational excellence.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will:

Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline, coupled with extensive experience in a similar leadership role.

Bring significant experience (10 years +) leading the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of Finance, Procurement, HR, and Payroll systems within a large and complex organisation.

Demonstrate proven leadership of high-performing IT teams, with a strong track record of maintaining operational stability, driving service excellence, and delivering business outcomes.

Possess extensive knowledge of enterprise applications, cloud-based platforms, and emerging technologies, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into practical business solutions.

Have strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, enabling you to build effective partnerships across all levels of the organisation and with external vendors.

Experience within the healthcare industry in a large healthcare organisation will be highly regarded, along with experience and knowledge of hospital or corporate systems including (but not limited to), Oracle Fusion ERP/Oracle eBusiness, OIC/OCI, Workday, HR/Payroll Applications, Rostering applications, SharePoint, Service Now and TOAD Data Studio.
