Job summary

The Scenic Rim Regional Council – Beaudesert QLD is seeking a Coordinator Media Servies to lead the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies for Council, promoting effective and innovative communication externally and internally. The role is based in Beaudesert, with possible work from Boonah or Tamborine Mountain offices.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or Public Relations and / or extensive work experience in corporate communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff, plan workload, achieve set goals, meet deadlines, report against performance metrics and provide quality customer service.
  • High level experience across marketing, branding, public relations, communications, print and media management with a strong emphasis on digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated issues management experience involving complex issues and diverse stakeholder groups and high level relationship management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound budget management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a small team which is results oriented and customer service focused, through providing direction, support and guidance to external and internal customers.
  • Lead the development, endorsement and implementation of Council's branding and supporting guidelines to maintain integrity for brand and organisational communication at all times.
  • Manage the section’s budget and review initiatives and activities (including policies and procedures) with a view to pursuing operational and organisational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Proactively pitch and place editorial content to effectively disseminate Council's messages, while reactively monitoring, analysing and responding to other content and issues, while acting as the organisation's chief touchpoint with the media.
  • Provide advice on best practice marketing, media, storytelling, branding and communications to Mayor and Councillors, Executive Leadership Team, internal and external stakeholders.

About this opportunity

As the Coordinator Media Servies, this position will lead the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies and solutions for Council, and promote effective, professional and innovative communication, both externally and internally.

The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.

About you…
