Job summary

Argo Natural Resources, based at Ironbark No 1, is seeking a Mechanical Coordinator to lead maintenance planning for underground coal operations. You will allocate people and equipment, set priorities and deliver safely, reliably and efficiently to meet production goals.

You will drive activities to achieve safety, production, budget and environmental objectives, maximise asset reliability and foster a culture of continuous improvement with frontline teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Coordinator in underground coal mining.
• Mechanical trade qualification or engineering degree.
• Current Supervisor qualifications: G1, G8, G9 and G2.
• Strong commitment to safety and positive safety culture.
• Proven leadership to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and Pulse or similar maintenance management systems.
• Flexible work approach with strong work ethic and goal focus.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

As Mechanical Coordinator, you'll play a key leadership role in planning and coordinating mechanical maintenance across our operations. You'll lead the allocation of people and equipment, set maintenance priorities, and drive timely delivery to keep our operation safe, reliable and productive. You'll be accountable for delivering maintenance activities that meet safety, production, budget and environmental objectives, while maximising asset reliability and operational performance. ABOUT YOU

• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Coordinator within an underground coal mining environment.
• A relevant Mechanical Trade qualification or Engineering degree.
• Current Supervisor qualifications, including G1, G8, G9 and G2.
• A strong commitment to safety, with the ability to promote and maintain a positive safety culture.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills and a genuine "can-do" attitude.
• Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and Pulse or similar maintenance management/database systems.
• A flexible approach to work, supported by a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving team and operational goals.
