Looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise, contractor coordination and problem solving to keep Council facilities operating at their best?

If you're experienced in building or facilities maintenance, enjoy coordinating contractors, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes, this could be the role for you.

Our Buildings team is responsible for maintaining a diverse range of Council-owned buildings and facilities across the city. As Coordinator Building Maintenance, you'll help ensure these assets remain safe, operational and fit for purpose for the community.

About the Role…

As our Coordinator Building Maintenance, you'll coordinate Council's planned, preventative and reactive building maintenance activities across a diverse portfolio of community and operational facilities.

You'll assess maintenance requests, prioritise work, coordinate contractors and service providers, and monitor works through to completion. You'll also undertake building inspections, identify maintenance requirements, investigate recurring issues and provide practical technical advice to support effective maintenance outcomes.

The role plays an important part in monitoring maintenance performance, service levels and expenditure, while supporting compliance, safety and continuous improvement across Council's building assets.

About You…

You're organised, practical and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple maintenance activities at once.

You bring experience in building, facilities or property maintenance environments and are confident working with contractors, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver quality outcomes. You're comfortable assessing maintenance requirements, interpreting plans and specifications, and using systems to manage work, records and reporting.

You're someone who:

  • Coordinates maintenance programs and activities to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Builds productive relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Takes a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Effectively manages competing priorities and changing demands.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.

Experience coordinating building, facilities or property maintenance activities, contractor management, maintenance planning or contract administration will be highly regarded. Formal trade qualifications within a building maintenance-related field and experience working with asset, financial or work management systems will also be highly regarded.

What we offer:
  • Diverse work supporting a broad range of Council facilities and community assets.
  • Ongoing, full-time employment with stability and flexibility.
  • Competitive salary and excellent employee benefits.
  • Opportunities for training, development and professional growth.
  • Supportive team environment focused on collaboration and quality outcomes.
  • Meaningful work that contributes to a growing community.
