Job summary

Jamaica Blue Lake Haven is seeking enthusiastic and skilled cooks and café allrounders to join our team in Lake Haven, NSW. Training will be provided and positions include full-time, part-time or casual shifts across the café.

You will prepare high-quality food and beverages while upholding food safety, presentation and customer service standards. Join a dynamic kitchen and café team, contribute to an exceptional dining experience, and work in a supportive, lifestyle-focused hospitality

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a cook or in a café kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of café operations, food safety and customer service standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times.
• Willingness to undertake a variety of kitchen and café tasks as required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a positive attitude.
• Commitment to food hygiene and safety, with relevant qualifications or willingness to obtain them.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and remain physically active.
• Interest in quality food and beverages with attention to detail.
• Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
• Flexible availability, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a variety of café menu items using fresh ingredients and proven culinary techniques.
• Operating café equipment including espresso machines, grinders, and food preparation tools with proficiency and care.
• Maintaining meticulous food preparation and plating standards to ensure consistency and visual appeal.
• Managing food inventory, stock rotation and organising kitchen supplies efficiently.
• Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Assisting with café operations including till transactions, customer service and general housekeeping duties.
• Responding flexibly to changing customer demands and service requirements throughout shifts.
• Contributing to a positive and supportive team environment whilst maintaining professional standards.
