Job summary

Ozcare is hiring a Cook to prepare, cook and serve meals for our elderly clients, ensuring dietary needs and texture modifications are met. You will follow IDDSI guidelines and maintain high hygiene standards in a busy kitchen, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality dining experiences.

Job description

As a Cook you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. Your tasks will include:

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements


• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI and texture-modified needs


• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards


• Monitor and comply with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices

Role Requirements

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.


• Demonstrated previous cooking experience for aged care residents would be an advantage


• Demonstrated ability to prepare nutritious meals that meet the dietary and texture modification requirements of older people


• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of IDDSI


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


• Strong time management and organisational skills in a busy kitchen environment.


• Flexible availability to cover annual leave, sick leave and ability to work morning, afternoon, and occasional weekend shifts.


• Compassionate and resident-focused approach, strong communication and teamwork skills, commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences for residents.


• Be vaccinated against Influenza & at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine


• Hold a current Police Screening Certificate


• Current First Aid & CPRtraining Certificates
