Job summary

Bupa Baulkham Hills is seeking a Cook to provide well-presented, nutritious meals in a home-like environment for residents. Your passion for food and person-first approach will make a real difference to residents’ daily lives.

You will plan and prepare balanced meals, liaise with residents and families, support kitchen operations, and comply with infection control and food safety procedures. Previous experience in similar settings is preferred, along with a Certificate in Commercial Cookery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to solve problems independently

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services

Duties

• Plan and prepare well balanced and nutritious meals for our residents
• Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
• Support the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
• Comply with all infection control and food safety procedures
• Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as stock taking, and food quality assessment

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to solve problems independently
