The team at Aroona have an exciting opportunity for a Cook and General Hand to join their dynamic team on a Casual basis.

The ideal candidate may have some experience as a kitchenhand and is eager to grow their career in a vibrant kitchen or restaurant setting. We're looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, hands-on all-rounder, and ready to contribute across both front and back of house operations. This is a great opportunity for someone that’s service minded who enjoys working in a team, learning new skills, and being part of a dynamic hospitality environment within Retirement Living.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be tasked undertaking a variety of duties and responsibilities including:

  • Assisting chefs withmeal preparationandplatingto ensure high-quality presentation
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene bywashing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Supporting the kitchen team with general duties to keep operations running smoothly
  • Working with the kitchen team to ensure a high standard of service is provided within the restaurant to residents and guests
  • Contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents through teamwork and care

About You

  • Basic knowledge ofsafe food handlingandkitchen hygiene practices (highly regarded but not essential as training will be provided)
  • Barista experience (highly regarded but not essential)
  • Ability to work in afast-paced environmentand follow instructions of the Chef
  • Good communication skills and ateam-oriented attitude
  • A friendly attitude and willingness to learn
  • Be well presented and reliable
  • Have a passionate and customer- focused approach with a can-do and proactive attitude
  • To have a current First Aid, RSA and CPR certificates. (highly regarded but not essential as training will be provided)
