Job summary

Aveo's Mountain View Retirement Village in the Tweed Valley near Murwillumbah is seeking a Cook to join our friendly kitchen team. You will help prepare high‑quality, nutritious meals, follow pre‑set menus and dietary requirements, and build meaningful connections with residents.

This permanent part‑time role runs Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Weekday, Saturday and Sunday rates apply, with penalty rates and entitlements.

Qualifications

• Previous Kitchenhand, Cook or Chef in a similar setting.
• Ability to follow set menus and adapt meals to dietary requirements.
• Strong communication skills and genuine interest in residents.
• Minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Certificate in Commercial Cookery and/or Food Safety certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present meals meeting quality standards.
• Follow pre-set menus while accommodating dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with food safety standards.
• Support stock control, storage, and waste minimisation.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

The Opportunity

Mountain View Retirement Villageis a vibrant community set on 28 acres of lush rainforest in the Tweed Valley, offering the peace of a rural retreat just 3.5km from Murwillumbah town centre.As aCook, you’ll assist with preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents. Working in a supportive environment, you’ll follow menu plans, dietary requirements, and food safety standards, whilst having the opportunity to build meaningful connections with residents.

This is a Permanent Part-Time role working Monday; Tuesday; Saturday and Sunday (9:00am-5:00pm)

Your Impact

• Prepare, cook, and present meals that meet quality and presentation standards

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with food safety requirements
• Support stock control, food storage, and waste minimisation practices
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

What you'll bring

What we offer

• Weekday Rates: $30.34/hr + superannuation+ relevant award entitlements including penalty rates,overtimeand allowances
