Job summary

Lutheran Services is seeking a Cook for St Andrew's Aged Care in Tallebudgera. This part-time role (approx 45hrs per fortnight) focuses on preparing nourishing meals in a small kitchen team. The position requires prior commercial kitchen experience, ideally in aged care or large-scale catering, with a Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery and a Queensland driver’s licence.

Police Check is required. You’ll join a not-for-profit organisation delivering compassionate care across Queensland,

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care or large-scale catering.
• Must have a valid Queensland driver’s licence and be able to obtain a Police Check.
• Trade qualification in commercial cookery is required (Cert III or Cert IV).

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh meals for residents, tailored to dietary needs.
• Work with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe and organised.
• Assist with menu planning, stock control and food quality.
• Contribute ideas to improve meals and dining experience.

We’re looking for a Cook at our St Andrew's Aged Care, where food is more than just a meal, it’s a moment of comfort, connection, and enjoyment for our residents.

Location: Tallebudgera - QLD
Role Type: Part-time (approx 45hrs/fortnight)

Remuneration: $31.11 ph + Super + Salary Packaging (up to $15,990) + Access to staff discounts & benefits. A Cook who can work in a busy kitchen, keep things organised, and help deliver meals that are nourishing, varied and enjoyable.

You’ll be part of a small kitchen team, preparing meals for our aged care residents and making sure every plate leaving the kitchen is something you’d be proud to serve.

What Your Day Might Look Like:

• Preparing fresh meals for residents, tailored to dietary needs
• Working with the team to keep service running smoothly
• Making sure the kitchen is clean, safe, and organised
• Helping with menu preparation, stock control and food quality
• Bringing ideas to improve meals and the overall dining experience

This Role Suits Someone Who:

• Has experience working in a commercial kitchen, ideally in Aged Care or large-scale catering.
• Works well in a team but can manage their own tasks
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and WHS compliance.
• Is organised, calm under pressure and enjoys a busy kitchen environment
• A relevant trade qualification (Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
• A valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
• Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
