Compass Group Australia is hiring a Cook for our airline lounge operations in Melbourne. The role focuses on daily kitchen tasks, food prep, stock rotation and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and HACCP compliance.

You will work in a fast-paced airport environment with a rotating roster. The position offers casual hours at $33.86 per hour plus penalties and 12% superannuation, with strong training and clear opportunities for career progression within the organisation.

The Position

• Support daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, stock rotation, and cleaning duties.
• Monitor stock levels, minimise wastage, and assist with inventory control to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
• Work collaboratively with the wider lounge team to deliver a premium experience for travellers.
• Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety, HACCP, and company standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
• Adapt to changing passenger volumes and operational demands in a fast-paced airport setting.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, storing stock correctly, and maintaining accurate product rotation.
• Contribute ideas to improve menu offerings, efficiency, and overall guest satisfaction.

The Person

• Passionate about preparing fresh, high-quality meals and maintaining excellent presentation standards.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management, and safe food handling practices.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Reliable, organised, and able to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
• Flexible availability across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to contribute to a fast-paced airport operation.
• Relevant hospitality qualifications or food safety certifications will be highly regarded.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) if required.
