Job summary

Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution (RFBI) Lakemba Masonic Village is seeking an experienced Cook to support the head chef and deliver high-quality meals to residents. You will prepare meals, set dining areas, and serve with friendly, homely service.

Ideal candidates will hold Safe Food Handling qualifications; Certificate III in Hospitality is desirable. You will work as part of a caring catering team, with competitive hourly rates and benefits, in a supportive RFBI environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with food and safety program; provide high quality, efficient and effective service.

About the role:

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Cook to join our passionate catering team at RFBI Lakemba Masonic Village. Within this role your key focus will be to ensure the delivery of a high-quality food service to our residents. You will assist the head chef in the preparation of meals, setting the dining area and serving meals for our residents, offering a friendly service and creating a homely environment.

Your key responsibilities will include;

• Compliance with food and safety program, providing high quality, efficient and effective service
• Prepare the dining area for meal times, serving food and drinks to our residents
• Maintain a clean work environment ensuring all cleaning and dishwashing is done in a timely manner
• Assist the head chef with preparation of meals
• Prepare meals in compliance with health and nutritional standards
• Assist in catering for special functions

Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution (RFBI) operates 22 residential aged care villages and 20 retirement villages. We also offer a range of home and community services across NSW and ACT to support older Australians to remain living in their own home.

About you:

• Qualification in Safe Food Handling
