Job summary

Alliance Automation in Sydney is seeking a motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our team. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle, from design and programming through testing and site commissioning, with a focus on PLC and SCADA systems.

You’ll gain broader project exposure, strengthen your technical skills and progressively take on greater responsibility as your capability develops, while contributing to safety, quality and continuous improvement standards.

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–3 years’ experience in control systems, automation or related engineering environment.
• Practical experience with PLC and/or SCADA systems.
• Sound understanding of control systems, industrial automation and engineering fundamentals.
• Some exposure to programming, testing and commissioning industrial control systems.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive approach and genuine willingness to learn and develop.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• A current Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development and delivery of control systems and automation projects.
• Develop and modify PLC and SCADA applications under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Assist with functional specifications, technical documentation, drawings and test procedures.
• Participate in system testing, FAT and site commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot control system issues and contribute to practical engineering solutions.
• Work with clients and project stakeholders to understand operational and technical requirements.
• Deliver high-quality engineering work in accordance with project requirements and schedules.
• Contribute to a strong culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
