Job summary

Qube Ports is seeking a Control Room Operator / Plant Operator to safely run control room systems and plant equipment at Fisherman Island, Brisbane. You will monitor blending and bagging processes, input production data, and coordinate material movements to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

This role requires forklift and front-end loader licences, a MSIC clearance, and training in load restraint and working at height.

Qualifications

• Forklift Licence and Front End Loader Licence are essential.
• MSIC clearance is required.
• Basic understanding of warehousing and inventory principles.
• Adequate numeracy and literacy.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor control room systems to support the safe and efficient operation of the fertiliser blending and bagging facility.
• Input production data and monitor multiple integrated computer systems to manage blending, bagging and product quality requirements.
• Coordinate fertiliser blending, bagging and product movement activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Operate mobile plant and equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements.
• Load and unload bulk materials and general cargo while maintaining product integrity and site safety.
• Collect and verify receival and delivery instructions to ensure operational requirements are met.
• Monitor conveyor systems, plant equipment and loading operations, identifying and responding to operational issues as required.
• Calculate and verify blend specifications to ensure product quality and compliance with operational requirements.
• Inspect equipment for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance, reporting defects, incidents and safety concerns as required.
• Record and report production data, equipment performance, incidents and operational delays in accordance with site procedures.
• Coordinate plant start-up, shutdown and emergency response activities in line with operational and safety requirements.
• Work closely with site personnel to maintain safe, efficient and continuous operations.

About The Role

Based at Fisherman Island, the Control Room Operator / Plant Operator is responsible for safely operating control rooms systems and site plant equipment, including forklifts, front-end loaders and other mobile plant equipment used by Qube as part of its operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Forklift Licence (essential)
• Experience operating Forklift up to 35 tonnes (preferred)
• Front End Loader Licence (essential)
• Experience in loading trucks (preferred)
• Load Restraint Training (preferred)
• Working at Height Training (preferred)
• Eligible to hold or have a current MSIC clearance
• Basic understanding of warehousing and inventory principles and practices
• Adequate numeracy and literacy
