A leading clean energy developer is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager in Sydney to oversee the contractual function for large-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of contract management experience and strong negotiation skills. This role supports the delivery of major renewable energy investments in a dynamic work environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of experience in contract management for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex EPC and related contracts.
• Experience managing multiple contracts and stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and advising senior management.
• Renewables/developer experience in solar/wind/BESS is desirable.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end contractual function across large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Manage and administer project contracts including EPC and grid connection agreements.
• Drive contract negotiation, execution workflows, compliance tracking, and variation management.
• Advise on optimal contracting strategies and risk allocation in early-stage development.

• Maintain key project control registers (deliverables, milestones, notices, claims).
• Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and project teams to ensure robust contract governance.

• Monitor project performance metrics and deliver contract reporting to senior leadership.
• Contribute to development of contract management best practices and continuous improvement.

Overview

Join a leading clean energy developer and asset owner as they scale up delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across Australia. With a global vision and local expertise, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to play a pivotal role in project delivery success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end contractual function across large-scale renewable energy projects from procurement through to construction and handover.
• Reporting directly to the Head of Delivery, this is a key leadership role supporting both commercial performance and risk management across an Australian portfolio.
• Manage and administer project contracts including EPC, BoP, OEM, LTSA, and grid connection agreements.
• Support early-stage project development, advising on optimal contracting strategies and risk allocation.
• Drive contract negotiation, execution workflows, compliance tracking, and variation/claim management.
• Maintain key project control registers (deliverables, milestones, notices, claims, etc.).
• Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and project teams to ensure robust contract governance.
• Provide commercial support to project managers throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Monitor project performance metrics and deliver regular contract reporting to senior leadership.
• Contribute to the development of contract management best practices and continuous improvement across the delivery function.

• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 40%).
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Construction, Engineering, or Business.
