Consolidated Power Projects Australia – South Brisbane QLD

CPP is a leading high‑voltage infrastructure provider, connecting renewable energy projects to Australia’s electricity grid.

As a member of Quanta Services, a Fortune 500 company ranked #157 on the NYSX, we specialise in the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of substations, transmission lines, wind farms, and battery storage systems.

Established in 1996, we’ve connected more wind farms and renewable batteries than any other company. With over 850 employees and offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, we partner with Australia’s major transmission providers to deliver innovative, end‑to‑end solutions.

Join us in shaping the future of energy.

The opportunity

Consolidated Power Projects (CPP) is seeking an experienced Contracts Advisor to join our South Brisbane office, supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

This role combines commercial advice with hands‑on contract administration. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, project delivery teams and legal counsel to interpret contractual requirements, manage risk and keep contractual matters progressing throughout project delivery.

With a scope comparable to a Contracts Manager role in the wider market, this opportunity offers involvement across both client‑facing head contracts and downstream subcontracts. Your initial focus will be supporting NSW utility projects, with opportunities to support Queensland projects as the pipeline develops.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advise Project Managers on contractual obligations, commercial risks and requirements under head contracts and subcontracts.
  • Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, variations and claims, ensuring relevant timeframes are met.
  • Support payment claims and responses in accordance with contract requirements and applicable Security of Payment legislation.
  • Review and negotiate subcontract and purchase order terms, including commercial departures, in consultation with commercial and legal colleagues.
  • Coordinate subcontract execution, internal approvals and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate commercial registers, project records and contract documentation.
  • Identify complex or high‑risk matters and work with legal counsel to develop practical solutions.
About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Experience in a similar contracts or commercial role, ideally with four or more years in infrastructure project delivery.
  • Experience in power, gas, water, rail or similarly complex infrastructure environments.
  • The ability to interpret and administer bespoke contracts across both head contracts and subcontracts.
  • An understanding of Australian Security of Payment requirements and relevant labour‑hire and building licensing obligations.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to build effective relationships with Project Managers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.

Experience with substations, wind farms, battery projects or renewable grid connections will be highly regarded, as will familiarity with Aconex or TeamBinder.
