Job summary

Rolleston Open Cut, a Glencore Australia operation in Central Queensland, invites applications for a Contract & Procurement Specialist. You will coordinate the site contracting plan, lead pre-tendering and tendering activities, and ensure compliant, fair contract dealings across site customers in line with our values.

Reporting to site leadership, you will help establish a sustainable contract management framework, monitor performance obligations and risk, and contribute to a safety-first

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in procurement and contract negotiations, preferably in mining/resources.
• Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, legal or engineering; CIPS recognition preferred.
• Commitment to safety and positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development, management and reporting of the Site contracting plan and related annual activity.
• Coordinate the contract pre-tendering, tendering and post tender negotiation process through to contract award.
• Provide and coordinate contract support to all site customers ensuring fair and ethical dealings.
• Assist Site Principal Representatives to establish and maintain a sustainable contract management framework, including monitoring performance obligations and assessing risk.

Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Job Description

About the Role

• Participate in development, management and reporting of the Site contracting plan and related annual activity.
• Coordinate the contract pre-tendering, tendering and post tender negotiation process through to contract award to demonstrate compliance with business principles.
• Provide and coordinate contract support to all site customers ensuring that all contract dealings are handled fairly and ethically in line with Glencore’s contract and project management procedures and principles.
• Assist Site Principal Representatives to establish and maintain a sustainable contract management/administration framework, including the monitoring of performance obligations (commercial and operational), and the assessment of contract risk profiles.

About You

• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in procurement and contract negotiations, it is desired to have the experience within the mining and resources sector but not vital
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in with business, commerce, legal or engineering sectors are highly desirable, as is CIPS recognition.
• Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values
• Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
