Job summary

DCOH is seeking a Darwin-based Contracts Administrator to support commercial delivery of construction projects. You will manage procurement, contract administration, cost control, and project coordination to ensure compliant, on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in similar roles, strong organisational and communication skills, and proficiency with JobPac and Microsoft Office in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, QS, Engineering, Commerce, Law, or related field.
  • 2-5 years' experience in Contracts Administrator or similar in construction.
  • Sound understanding of contract administration, procurement and cost control.
  • Experience with subcontract management, variations, progress claims, and procurement activities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in JobPac, Microsoft Office, and project management/document control systems.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, award, administration, and close-out
  • Support the administration of head contract and subcontract obligations in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Prepare, assess, and administer variations, extensions of time, contractual notices, and progress claims
  • Prepare scope of works, tender documentation, and procurement packages
  • Coordinate subcontractor tendering processes, tender evaluations, and recommendation activities
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditure, and support cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting activities
  • Prepare and maintain commercial registers, procurement schedules, payment schedules, and project documentation
  • Support the preparation of head contract claims, final accounts, and associated commercial documentation
  • Assist in identifying contractual and commercial risks and support the resolution of contractual matters
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding contractual and commercial matters
  • Track procurement activities, subcontractor deliverables, and key project milestones
  • Maintain accurate contract records, registers, correspondence, and commercial documentation
  • Support project teams in maintaining accurate commercial and project records
  • Participate in project and commercial meetings while supporting effective communication between project delivery and commercial teams
  • Develop positive working relationships with stakeholders and contribute to a collaborative, professional, and high-performing team environment

Who You Are

This Darwin-based role supports the commercial and contractual delivery of construction projects through effective procurement, contract administration, cost control, and project coordination.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline
  • 2-5 years' experience in a Contracts Administrator, Contract Support, Commercial Administrator, or similar role within the construction industry
  • Sound understanding of contract administration, procurement, and cost control principles
  • Experience assisting with subcontract management, variations, progress claims, and procurement activities
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills
