Job summary

Perpetual Wealth in Brisbane seeks an experienced Legal Counsel for a 12-month maximum-term contract to support the PW business with high-quality legal services, including trustee matters, Native Title and fiduciary work.

You will advise business units, coordinate with external counsel, and stay abreast of evolving legal standards affecting PW. A law degree and valid practicing certificate in Australia are required, with 2–3 years PQE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in law and a current practicing certificate, or admission to practice as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction.
• 2–3 years post-qualification experience, ideally with exposure to wills and estates; litigation experience viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Provide sound legal advice to business units within commercially oriented timeframes.
• Instructing and managing external legal advisors, particularly for outsourced litigation.
• Follow through on queries and issues to ensure efficient resolution.
• Work with internal stakeholders to review, negotiate and manage legal issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments affecting PW businesses.
