Job summary

Michael Page Australia is assisting a Queensland Government organisation in Brisbane to recruit a Communications Officer for a fixed-term contract through to January 2027, with potential extension. You will support internal and external communications, developing content and assisting with media activities across digital and print channels.

You will work closely with the Media, Communications and Engagement team, delivering across multiple platforms and audiences while managing competing

Qualifications

• Experience in communications, media, public relations or stakeholder engagement.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Experience creating content for multiple audiences and channels.
• Exposure to social media, digital communications and CMS.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Experience in government or regulated environments is highly regarded.
• Graphic design or visual content creation experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit and review media releases, responses and stakeholder communications.
• Create engaging content for internal and external audiences.
• Assist with social media content creation and digital communications.
• Produce marketing and communication materials across print and digital channels.
• Design content for websites, reports, brochures and presentations.
• Support stakeholder engagement and relationship management activities.
• Liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders and industry participants.
• Manage multiple communication projects and tight deadlines.
• Conduct research to support communication and media initiatives.
• Advise on communication, publishing and content solutions.
• Assist with communication campaigns and organisational promotion.
