Job summary

Osborne Richardson are partnering with North Burnett Regional Council to appoint a Community Development Officer in Gayndah. The role focuses on engaging with local groups to support grant funding, delivering grants programs and coordinating community events.

You will build relationships, manage budgets, assist with leasing matters and help coordinate community projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in community development, engagement or a similar role.
• Solid experience with grant applications, grant program administration and acquittals.
• Proven event and project management skills, including budgets and procurement.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, with a positive approach.
• Willingness to work outside business hours and across North Burnett communities for events.
• Unrestricted C class driver's licence and a Positive Notice Blue Card.
• Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, plus IAP2 Certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Engage with community groups and organisations to support grant applications and manage grants through delivery, budgets and acquittals.
• Deliver Council's Community Grants Program and the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).
• Plan, promote and deliver community events, arts and culture activities and citizenship ceremonies.
• Support community-led initiatives through capacity building and resource coordination.
• Assist with community leasing matters as needed.
• Build strong relationships with community leaders, NGOs and State/Federal agencies.
• Deliver community consultation, engagement and prepare plans/reports.
