Job summary

Ventia is seeking a skilled Contract Administrator to join the Sydney Roads and Asset Performance portfolio in Arndell Park on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will support subcontractor management, procurement, and cost reporting to help deliver project outcomes.

You will typically hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and bring knowledge of tendering, variations, cost reconciliations and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management).
  • Experience in post-graduate project/contract administration or Quantity Surveying on construction projects.
  • Knowledge of subcontract tendering, procurement, cost reporting and construction programs.
  • Proficient with MS Office, SharePoint and contract administration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Subcontractor and Procurement Management: oversee workflow, issue Subcontract/Design Work Orders, create purchase orders and manage invoices.
  • Maintain a variation register and assist in resolving contractual disputes and defects.
  • Administer contractual documentation and manage changes/change events effectively.
  • Identify, liaise and negotiate with potential subcontractors, supporting commercial matters and Schedule of Rates.
  • Review onboarding documentation, complete internal assessments, ensure contract compliance.
  • Provide support to subcontractors during onboarding and maintain the Subcontractor Register.
  • Commercial Reporting and Cost Control: prepare cost reports, reconciliations, cash flows, and S-curves; maintain cost control from budget to monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Subcontractor and Procurement Management:

Could You Be Our Next Contract Administrator?

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • In-depth knowledge of subcontract tendering, standards, applicable legislation, procedures, cost reporting, procurement, construction programs, and plans.
  • Proven experience in post-graduate project/contract administration or Quantity Surveying on construction projects or programmes.
  • Experience in a road construction/maintenance environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and apply contract terms and conditions.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, including multitasking and time management, to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficiency with systems such as Team Binder, SharePoint, and MS Office.
