Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is seeking an APS5 Content Designer to support a Federal Government client on an initial 12-month contract with a possible extension. The role focuses on accessible, user-centred online content across web platforms, ensuring clarity and compliance with government standards.

You will collaborate with policy teams, subject matter experts and service owners to transform complex information into simple, actionable content, while upholding GovCMS and WCAG guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and editing content in plain English.
• Knowledge of content design and user-centered design.
• Experience with GovCMS/Drupal CMS.
• Knowledge of AU Government Digital Service Standard and WCAG.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit and publish digital content using CMSs including GovCMS.
• Develop clear, concise, user-focused content.
• Conduct content reviews and remediation for quality and consistency.
• Apply content design principles and digital standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to convert complex material into accessible content.
• Support content governance, publishing workflows and lifecycle management.
• Contribute to user research, usability testing and content improvements.
• Assist in information architecture and content structures to enhance UX.
• Ensure alignment with accessibility requirements and government standards.
