Description

WHO ARE WE?

The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation ('BCF') is one of Sydney's most trusted frontline charities and has been supporting the community for nearly 40 years. Our mission is to address homelessness and hardship by providing essential services including food, social welfare, healthcare, education, and community programs.

Behind the scenes, our Content Creator helps bring BCF's work to life by capturing authentic stories, creating engaging content and ensuring our mission reaches the people who need to hear it most.

THE ROLE

Demonstrated photography skills and hands-on camera experience are essential!

We're looking for a creative, passionate and motivated Content Creator to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys storytelling through photography, videography, graphic design and written content. Working closely with the Brand Content Coordinator, you'll help bring BCF's mission to life by creating engaging content across our social media channels, fundraising campaigns, marketing materials and organisational communications.

You'll have the opportunity to capture authentic stories, attend events, develop creative content ideas and contribute to meaningful campaigns that make a real difference in the community.

This role is ideal for a content creator who is proactive, visually driven and eager to build their skills within the not-for-profit sector.

Flexibility to work occasional weekends, after-hours and public holidays, including Christmas Day, is required as part of the role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As our Content Creator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating engaging photography, videography, graphic design and written content across digital and print channels.
  • Capturing authentic stories that showcase BCF's impact while maintaining dignity, respect and ethical storytelling practices.
  • Producing content for social media, fundraising appeals, campaigns, marketing initiatives and organisational communications.
  • Assisting with the creation of marketing collateral and promotional materials.
  • Scheduling and publishing content across BCF's social media platforms.
  • Monitoring community engagement, comments and direct messages, responding appropriately and escalating where required.
  • Supporting event coverage through photography, videography and live content creation.
  • Maintaining and organising BCF's digital asset library, including images, videos and design files.
  • Ensuring all content aligns with BCF's brand guidelines, visual identity and tone of voice.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to identify and develop new storytelling opportunities.
  • Incorporating feedback and revisions to deliver polished, high-quality content.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You are a creative storyteller with strong visual communication skills and a passion for creating meaningful content. You're organised, proactive and enjoy working both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You'll also bring:

  • 1-2 years' experience in content creation, digital marketing or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience creating photography, videography, graphic design and written content for digital platforms.
  • Experience using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and Lightroom (or equivalent software).
  • Experience using social media scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite or Hootsuite.
  • Confidence using DSLR or mirrorless cameras, with an understanding of composition, lighting and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent copywriting and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing professional-quality work.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and generate new content ideas.
  • Empathy and professionalism when working with sensitive stories and vulnerable communities.

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • If your application is shortlisted, the next steps may include:
  • Phone screening
  • Interview
  • A brief practical task or trial to demonstrate your skills and meet the team.

These steps help create a supportive and informed recruitment process. We want you to understand the role, meet the team and feel confident about whether BCF is the right fit for you.

WHY JOIN US?

At BCF, you’ll be part of a supportive, inclusive team that believes in compassion, respect and dignity for all.

We offer:

  • Access to Salary Packaging benefits (up to $15,900 tax free)
  • Employee Assistance Program ('EAP')
  • WHEREFIT Health and Wellbeing Program
  • A collaborative and values-driven workplace culture

The Bill Crews Charitable Trust and the Exodus Foundation are separate but closely aligned entities. Together, they deliver services and programs under the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation brand, working in partnership to support those most in need.

All BCF employees are required to have completed at least three (3) COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster doses approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration ('TGA'). Proof of vaccination will be required prior to commencing employment.

Applicants must have the right to work in Australia. The successful candidate will also be required to complete a Working With Children Check ('WWCC') and a National Police Check as part of the employment process.

Please note: This position is managed directly by the BCF People and Culture ('P&C') team. While we appreciate the interest of recruitment agencies and external providers, we are not seeking third-party assistance for this role at this time.
