Goodman Fielder is seeking an experienced insights lead to build and steer the insights capability, uncover unmet consumer and shopper needs, and link data to strategic decisions across our brands. You will stitch data sources, reframe business questions, and translate evidence into clear recommendations that influence plans.
You’ll also pilot AI-enabled planning to speed insights and empower teams in a decentralised, entrepreneurial environment.
Be the voice of the customer and build the engine behind it.
Are you deeply curious about why people buy what they buy? Do you want to help pioneer a high‑impact priority for a business whose brands reach millions of Australians every day? Are you willing to roll up your sleeves and shape something new from the ground up?
At Goodman Fielder, we're behind some of Australia's most‑loved food brands. Our team is helping to reinvent how we reach customers, starting with insights and data to inform our plans and decisioning.
You'll lead our insights capability, get to the real reasons people buy (and don't buy), and help us make better decisions with them. This is a chance to step up, take a new challenge, and transform a business investing in change.
We have rich data (shopper data, survey data, customer insights) and big questions. We want to move beyond insights simply informing our plans. In the future insights will be key to how we decide, linking clearly from business question → customer need → evidence → implication → decision → what we learned. You'll lead that shift as the first dedicated insights lead in a new Marketing Engagement & Effectiveness team, reporting to the Head of Marketing Engagement & Effectiveness.
GF is decentralised and entrepreneurial. You'll be given big challenges and trusted to shape the agenda, not just take research requests.
You'll think and act both strategically and hands‑on, from framing the question to designing the research, doing the analysis and landing the decision. Because this capability is early‑stage, you'll be known for diving deep, testing new approaches, and turning what works into repeatable ways of working. You care as much about simplicity as you do about rigour.
You won't be expected to have done all of this before. This is the opportunity, and you'll build it with the team and our partners:
If you've got a track record of teaching yourself new things, and of going after problems before anyone asks, put your hand up. That's true whether you have 5 years' experience or 10+.
We back ambition, growth, and learning over a perfect CV. If you're curious about why people do what they do, and want to help the business act on it, we'd love to hear from you.
