Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist with an interest in acute mental health looking to move to sunny Queensland?
You will support the development, clinical governance and clinical activity within the Adult Mental Health Service, at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (West Moreton HHS) with a focus on the needs of consumers presenting with acute mental health needs.
The Mental Health and Specialised Service division is responsible for delivering high quality, comprehensive mental health and alcohol and other drugs services across the West Moreton region. The division comprises of three streams; Community and Acute Services, Forensic and Secure Services and Mental Health Support Services. Community and Acute Services includes inpatient mental health services provided at the Ipswich Hospital and contemporary community and residential services in the region.
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified) or New Zealand.
Implemented a new expedited pathway to specialist registration in December 2024, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification in Psychiatry. The only accepted qualifications are MRCPsych and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) after 2007. Now is the time to apply for a new role.
