Job summary

WT (Australia) in Melbourne is seeking a Consultant for the Portfolio and Program Advisory team to support advisory engagements across capital projects, programs, and portfolios. You will work with specialist advisors to improve governance, assurance, and decision‑making for major capital investments.

Contribute across governance, PMO, commercial, procurement, assurance, and delivery functions, while translating data into executive insights and developing dashboards for client decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to interpret and communicate data‑driven insights.
  • Experience working with project reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualisation platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a capital project environment, supporting performance improvement and project delivery initiatives.
  • 3+ years' experience in advisory, PMO, project management, project controls, commercial management, procurement, or related capital project environments.

Job Description

Our Portfolio and Program Advisory (PPA) team in Melbourne is looking for a Consultant to support the delivery of advisory engagements across capital projects, programs, and portfolios.

You will work alongside specialist advisors from across WT to help clients improve governance, assurance, delivery performance, and decision-making across major capital investments.

You'll enjoy variety across engagements, working with clients at different stages of the capital project lifecycle and helping solve challenges across governance, PMO, commercial, procurement, assurance, and delivery functions.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Support the delivery of consulting and advisory services that improve governance, assurance, and performance across capital projects, programs, and portfolios.
  • Support clients to improve their capability, consistency, and decision‑making across key business and project functions.
  • Provide support to clients across sectors including infrastructure, property, healthcare, transport, utilities, and government.
  • Contribute to client proposals, capability statements, and bid submissions, including supporting client interviews and presentations where required.
  • Translate complex data into clear, executive‑ready insights and recommendations. Support the development of reporting, dashboards, and visual outputs to inform client decision‑making.
  • Support project controls, commercial, and governance activities across cost, schedule, risk, and performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with neighbouring WT teams, including carbon advisory and digital, to provide integrated solutions for our clients.
To be considered you must have:
  • Experience supporting capital projects, programs, or portfolios within advisory, PMO, project management, commercial management, or project controls environments. Strong analytical capability and the ability to interpret and communicate data‑driven insights.
  • Experience working with project reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualisation platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a capital project environment, supporting performance improvement and project delivery initiatives.
  • 3+ years' experience in advisory, PMO, project management, project controls, commercial management, procurement, or related capital project environments.
Ideally, you can also demonstrate the following experience:
  • Establishment, improvement, or operation of a PMO (Program or Project Management Office).
  • Understanding of the typical capital project lifecycle.
  • Consulting or advisory experience.
  • Experience supporting procurement, governance, or assurance activities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification within the built environment and/or project management discipline.
