Full-time, Temporary position with a possibility of permanency

Position No: 38208

The Environmental Offsets – Planning, Monitoring and Research team is looking for a skilled and experienced environmental conservation planner, with strong project management and GIS experience, and excellent people skills.

The Conservation Planner is specifically tasked with leading the development and delivery of Offset Management Plans and Spatial Offset Management Plans for both new and established environmental offset reserves across the ACT conservation estate. This will involve collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and specialists internal and external to the ACT Parks and Conservation Service; and ensuring alignment with relevant policies and legislation.

The Conservation Planner role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of conservation and restoration in the ACT, with delivery of on-ground benefits for threatened species.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Mandatory
  • Tertiary qualifications in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or equivalent.
  • A current manual driver’s license
Other requirements
  • Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
  • This position does not require a security clearance.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for 12 months with the possibility of permanency.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
