Job summary

Quality People is urgently seeking a Configuration Manager for a 13-month contract in Canberra. The role focuses on establishing, implementing, and assuring CM frameworks across Defence programs, in collaboration with Engineering, Technical Leadership, project managers and industry partners.

Applicants must demonstrate CM experience in Defence or similar complex engineering environments, strong CM knowledge, understanding of SE lifecycle integration, and ideally familiarity with CM tools such as

• Demonstrated experience in Configuration Management within Defence or comparable complex engineering environments.
• Strong working knowledge of CM principles, standards, and frameworks.
• Experience implementing CM across multi-stakeholder programs.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and integration with CM; DOORS experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, and assure CM frameworks, processes, and controls across the program.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Technical Leadership, project managers and industry partners to ensure compliant configuration practices.
• Maintain auditable CM records in accordance with Defence policy and quality management systems.

Job description

Our client URGENTLY requires a Configuration Manager for 13 months + Contract in Canberra.

The Configuration Manager is accountable for establishing, implementing, and assuring configuration management frameworks, processes, and controls across the program in accordance with Defence policy, applicable standards, and quality management systems. You will work collaboratively with Engineering and Technical Leadership teams, project managers, and industry partners to ensure consistent, compliant, and auditable configuration practices across multiple contracts and stakeholders.

Skills and Experience required include:

• Demonstrated experience in Configuration Management within Defence or comparable complex engineering environments, spanning acquisition and sustainment.
• Strong working knowledge of CM principles, standards, and frameworks.
• Experience implementing and assuring CM across complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and integration with CM and experience with CM tools and environments (e.g. DOORS) are desirable.

Must have (minimum) NV1 Security Clearance.
