Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is seeking a creative and commercially minded Conference & Events Manager to shape how the venue is seen and experienced.

You will build client relationships, oversee event delivery, coordinate conferences and group bookings, and work with Sales, Revenue, F&B and Banquets to maximise revenue.

You will lead and develop the events team, champion guest feedback, and ensure every experience reflects Sofitel's luxury service.

The Opportunity:

As Conference & Events Manager, you will play a key role in bringing exceptional events to life at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.
From the initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up, you will build strong client relationships, oversee seamless event delivery and ensure every experience reflects the service and sophistication synonymous with Sofitel.

Reporting to the the Director of Conference & Events, you will support the day-to-day operation of the Conference & Events function, inspiring the team to deliver outstanding service while driving commercial performance.

A strong focus will be placed on maximising revenue through upselling, identifying new business opportunities, supporting forecasting and maintaining accurate reporting across Delphi and Opera.

Working closely with Sales, Revenue, F&B, Banquets and other hotel departments, you will coordinate conferences, meetings, social events and group accommodation, ensuring every detail is communicated and delivered to the highest standard. You will prepare and oversee event documentation, proposals and contracts, host client meetings and site inspections, and act as the trusted point of contact throughout the client journey.

Building and maintaining strong relationships will be at the heart of the role. You will develop connections with new and existing clients, Accor hotels, suppliers and industry partners, while actively seeking opportunities to grow repeat business and strengthen our position within the Sydney events market.

You will also play an important role in developing our Ambassadors through coaching, training and day-to-day support, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
As a champion of guest feedback and continuous improvement, you will use insights, market knowledge and commercial opportunities to continually elevate our Conference & Events offering.

Above all, you will be an ambassador for Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, bringing creativity, energy and a passion for excellence to every interaction, while creating memorable experiences for our clients, guests and Ambassadors.

About You:

You are a confident and commercially minded hospitality professional with experience in Conference & Events, sales or a similar environment.
You have a genuine passion for creating exceptional experiences and building strong, lasting client relationships.

Highly organised and proactive, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy planning and balancing multiple priorities to deliver seamless events from enquiry through to completion.
You are commercially savvy, with a natural ability to identify opportunities, drive upselling and contribute to revenue growth.

A strong communicator and team player, you will confidently collaborate across Sales, Revenue, F&B, Banquets and other hotel departments, while supporting and motivating your team to deliver exceptional service.
