Job summary

Connecting Plots in Sydney is seeking a Conceptual Designer to craft creative concepts and build distinctive visual identities for a range of brands, then roll them out across broadcast, digital and social. You’ll work with a team to shape ideas from brief to finished identity, adapting concepts across assets and channels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a design or conceptual design role within an agency environment.
• Strong command of design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• A solid base of animation and motion skills
• Highly creative and imaginative, with strong visual craft across layout and type.
• A portfolio that shows both big ideas and the craft to land them.
• An interest in popular culture and new advertising trends and techniques.
• A high level of awareness of how customers experience design.
• Able to explain and justify your ideas clearly.
• A self‑starter with strong multi-tasking and time management, who anticipates problems before they happen.
• Able to work openly and responsibly with account management, production and the wider team.

Responsibilities

• Understanding creative briefs and knowing what the right solution is.
• Keeping across design trends and what different audiences like and respond to.
• Developing concepts and turning them into unique identities and visual worlds, with members of the wider creative team or solo if required.
• Designing and rolling those identities out across every channel and asset.
• Presenting your ideas internally and to clients.
• Working with production to get the work made on time and on budget.
