Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is hiring a Compounding Technician for our Old Toongabbie facility in Sydney. This full-time permanent role covers shifts starting from early morning and includes handling aseptic production of chemotherapy, antibiotics and nutrition products for hospitals and patients.

You will prepare sterile medications, follow established protocols, ensure safety and quality, and participate in training to grow in pharmaceuticals. Training and support are provided to new entrants.

Qualifications

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in compounding tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and protocols.
  • Ability to adapt to shift work schedules.
  • Comfort working in a cleanroom environment and following GMP.
  • Experience in pharmacy/manufacturing/warehousing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Select and prepare raw materials for compounding.
  • Aseptically compound sterile solutions and products.
  • Pack finished units and perform final inspections.
  • Label and dispatch prepared products per SOPs.
  • Maintain GMP documentation and SOP adherence.
  • Perform other duties as required by the role.

The Role: Compounding Technician – Pharmaceutical

A great opportunity has become available for a Compounding Technician to join our team in Old Toongabbie facility in a Full-time permanent position , to cover shifts starting from 4** :00 **** am - midnight, **** Monday to Friday** with flexibility to perform overtime as required.

In this role you will be responsible for the aseptic production process- manufacturing Chemotherapy, Antibiotics and Nutritional products for our hospitals and patients. This includes preparing and compounding sterile medications and solutions according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Picking and preparing raw materials
  • Aseptically compounding (mixing) sterile solutions
  • Packing of finished units for each order including final inspection of products
  • Labelling and dispatching of prepared products
  • Ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Adhering to Baxter’s Standard Operating Procedures
  • Other duties as required
Essential skills & qualifications
  • Enjoy work that requires a high attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Adapting to shift work schedules as needed
  • Providing assistance in environments with defined procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Be comfortable working within a cleanroom environment for most of your working day
  • Executing repetitive results in a consistent and accurate manner
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of basic mathematics
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in pharmacy, manufacturing or warehousing would be an advantage
  • Tasks involve manual repetitive handling and dexterity
  • Previous manual compounding experience highly regarded
This role is subject to the following:
  • A pre -employment medical including stringent vision screening (GMP requirement), background and reference checks.

Note: Training/orientation will require flexibility for approx. 3-5 months with shift times ranging between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
