Job summary

PharmacySmart Compounding in Balwyn North, VIC, is seeking a full-time Compounding Pharmacy Lab Technician to support pharmacists in preparing customised medications. The role is based in our facility with potential availability at East Melbourne.

You will measure, mix and prepare creams, ointments, solutions, and suspensions, perform QA testing, maintain records, manage equipment and inventory, and work with a clinical team to resolve any issues while following safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a compounding pharmacy technician or in a similar role (highly desirable)
• A Certificate III or IV in Pharmacy, or equivalent qualification is desirable (but not mandatory)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and techniques
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
• Strong communication

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure, mix and prepare a variety of compounded medications, including creams, ointments, solutions, and suspensions
• Conduct quality assurance testing on compounded products to ensure they meet strict safety and potency standards
• Maintain meticulous records and documentation throughout the compounding process
• Assist in the daily operations of the pharmacy lab, including equipment maintenance and inventory management
• Collaborate with pharmacists to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the compounding process
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
