Job summary

Ambition Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a market-leading international professional services firm in Sydney for a Compliance Manager. You will lead two Analysts, act as the primary compliance advisor to the sales team, and drive AFSL framework, risk matrices, and breach reporting in line with ASIC guidelines.

Job description

I have a Compliance Manager opportunity available at a market-leading international professional services firm. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for an ambitious legal or compliance professional ready to run day-to-day operations, lead a small team, and act as the primary compliance advisor to the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead two Compliance Analysts - mentor and develop!
• Serve as the approachable face of compliance for BDM team, resolving operational product queries, preventing misrepresentation, and handling escalations.
• Maintain and execute AFSL compliance framework, risk matrices, breach reporting protocols, and internal controls in accordance with ASIC guidelines.
• Lead investigations into complex member complaints, managing Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) and external AFCA escalations.
• Oversee compliance monitoring, registers, and ongoing training tracking for corporate and individual Authorised Representatives (ARs).
• Prepare monthly compliance reports and present risk updates to the CFO, Sales Director, and internal Risk Committee.

About You

• Hands-on operator comfortable working in a high performance but friendly environment
• Proven experience supervising /mentoring / leading junior team members or analysts (12 to 18+ months minimum).
• A degree in Law or a solid background in commercial regulatory compliance is desirable
• Background in commercial legal practice/operations, direct insurance, consumer claims/warranty, credit hire, or B2B professional services
• Ability to collaborate with strong sales personalities while holding firm on regulatory integrity.
