Western suburbs, heavy transport industry

Keep building your career in compliance or transport

Office based full time (Mon – Fri) position. No regular WFH offered

Lovely offices and a fun crew to work with

Australian owned and operating in Melbourne for over 35 years, this business is known for providing a high level of service and meeting demanding customer schedules, with a minimum of fuss. Based in the inner West of Melbourne in comfortable offices, they run a busy operation repositioning shipping containers between the port, client sites, and container yards. They are a reputable company with loyal clients, ensuring continued growth and expansion.

Ambitious growth plans and ongoing success have created an opportunity to add to the team with an upgraded position that will oversee compliance requirements, provide some administration support, prepare performance statistics, and support ongoing learning and development. With substantial training provided, responsibilities include compliance (fatigue management, mass management, driver scheduling, truck roadworthiness, Vic Roads / NHVR requirements, etc.), statistics/report preparation, and some administration support mainly to two General Managers and the CEO.

Applicants with some compliance experience and/or transport industry background are encouraged to apply. Development support will be provided to equip you with the full range of skills needed for this varied and exciting role. The qualities and caliber of the person are more important than experience in selecting the successful candidate.

To be successful, you will:

  • Have some experience with compliance or senior administration, ideally in the heavy transport industry
  • Have an interest in transport and a desire to learn about the shipping/container transport industry
  • Possess good English skills (writing and speaking)
  • Have good people skills, including working effectively with diverse styles and nationalities
  • Be able to influence others to improve compliance where needed
  • Be computer savvy and eager to develop advanced skills, including in the Microsoft suite
  • Be methodical with high attention to detail
  • Be eager to build a career and be teachable
  • Have an enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Be comfortable with numbers and calculations

Offered is a competitive salary, a long-term career opportunity, a stable and growing company, a full-time position, free off-street parking, comfortable offices, and a great team environment.
