Job summary

Netball ACT is the peak body for netball in the ACT. It leads and supports the ACT community to grow netball through quality competitions, increased participation and coaching/umpiring development.

The Competition Coordinator will plan, deliver and continuously improve Netball ACT competitions and coordinate the workforce supporting them, including coaches, umpires and volunteers, in collaboration with associations, clubs and program leads.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating sporting competitions, events or comparable programs, managing deadlines and applying rules consistently.
• Knowledge of coaching and/or umpiring education, accreditation or development pathways, with the ability to coordinate staff, contractors and volunteers.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and digital capability including spreadsheets, databases and competition systems, with financial literacy to monitor budgets.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, able to build relationships and respond to sensitive enquiries.
• Sound judgement and initiative to resolve operational issues and improve processes and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery and continuous improvement of Netball ACT competitions and the development and coordination of the workforce that supports them.
• Deliver safe, inclusive and well-run competitions, supported by capable coaches, umpires, officials and volunteers.
• Collaborate with associations, clubs and relevant program leads to ensure smooth operations.
