Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is prescribed.
• Preferred: Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing).
• Federal Police Clearance required and declaration of any future charges/convictions that could affect your role.

Responsibilities

• Focuses on customers and residents using a person-centered approach, showing patience, empathy and listening while respecting diverse needs.
• Attends to personal care needs, especially for those requiring extra support due to frailty or physical limitations.
• Identifies and reports changes in customers' circumstances to senior staff; monitors vital signs and assists with prescribed medications.
• Provides manual handling assistance and supports daily hygiene routines, including showers, shaving, and nail care.
• Maintains accurate records of care, daily logs, incidents and care plans.
• Offers emotional support and companionship to residents, encouraging participation in social activities.
• Advocates for residents' wellbeing through collaboration with families and the care team.
• Keeps a proactive check-in schedule to address residents' comfort and needs; responds to call bells promptly.
