Job summary

Southern Cross Care Queensland is seeking compassionate Casual Support Workers to assist our aged care clients in the Gold Coast and Logan areas. You will provide personal care, meals and social support to help clients stay independent and engaged in their own homes.

Join a not-for-profit organisation with a caring culture, flexible 14-day rosters, ongoing training and supportive Care Managers. Requirements include Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent), current First Aid/CPR,

Qualifications

Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent is required.
At least two years’ experience in a support role, ideally in aged care or community services.
Current First Aid and CPR, and influenza vaccination.
Australian work rights and NDIS Worker Screening clearance.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised support in line with care plans and Care Manager directions.
Assist with personal care, daily living activities and prescribed aids.
Prepare meals to suit dietary needs and assist with eating as required.
Assist with medication in accordance with care plans and SCCQ procedures.
Provide domestic assistance to maintain safe, comfortable homes.
Offer companionship and emotional support to promote wellbeing.
Assist with shopping, appointments, and social outings including transport.
Monitor changes in clients’ health and wellbeing and report promptly.
Maintain electronic care records and service times.
