Job summary

Multi-Entity Property Group is seeking a Company Accountant to join the finance team in Melbourne. You will manage accounting across a large multi-entity group with autonomy and variety, reporting to the CFO. This is a long-term role in a well-established, family-owned asset group.

You will handle bank reconciliations, property transactions, loan schedules, BAS and year-end work while helping improve processes and controls. The role requires independent work and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a high-volume, multi-entity accounting environment.
• Proficient in MYOB and strong Excel/MS Office skills.
• CA or CPA qualification preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Complete bank reconciliations and prepare the weekly cash report.
• Process property purchases and sales for the group.
• Maintain the group's loan schedule and assist with BAS preparation.
• Assist with year-end accounts, statutory and tax returns across the entities.
• Help improve accounting processes and controls, and guide accounts staff.

Join a family-owned property development and investment group, with a long and respected history in Melbourne. It is a very well-established business, and you will be joining a long-standing team where people stay and grow with the company.

About the role
You will be a member of the finance team, reporting to the CFO. You will manage the accounting across a large group of entities, with plenty of autonomy and variety. This is a long-term role.

Key responsibilities

Complete bank reconciliations and prepare the weekly cash report

Process property purchases and sales

Maintain the group's loan schedule

Prepare and lodge the quarterly BAS

Assist with year-end accounts, statutory and tax returns across the group's entities, working with the external accountants

You will also help improve accounting processes and controls, and guide accounts and admin staff.

About you

Extensive experience in a high-volume, multi-entity accounting environment

Proficient in MYOB

Strong Excel and MS Office skills

Excellent attention to detail, and comfortable working independently

Property or financial services experience is highly regarded, as is CA or CPA qualification
