Job summary

SA Health in Wudinna seeks a part-time Community Support Worker to deliver personalised home support across the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network. The position is based in Wudinna, operates on a 7-day roster, and is paid WHD4 with pro-rata salary plus 12% superannuation and salary sacrifice benefits.

Qualifications

  • Flexibility to respond to participant-directed scheduling and varying shift requirements.

Overview

In a region where distances are vast and communities are close-knit, the work of a Community Support Worker carries real weight. Based in Wudinna and working across the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN), this part‑time ongoing role offers you the chance to make a genuine difference in the daily lives of older people and those living with disability - right in your own community.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working within EFNLHN's Consumer Directed Care model, you'll deliver personalised support that puts participants - not providers - in the driver's seat. Your day‑to‑day will vary based on what participants need, and may include:

  • Providing personal care, hygiene assistance and mobility support in participants' homes or residential aged care settings
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
  • Providing transport to appointments, errands and social activities
  • Offering social support and companionship that helps participants stay connected and independent
What You’ll Bring
  • Certificate III or higher in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or Home and Community Care) - required for appointment at WHD4 level
  • Genuine empathy and respect for the rights and choices of people receiving care
  • Ability to work autonomously in community settings with sound judgement
  • Flexibility to respond to participant-directed scheduling and varying shift requirements
  • Collaborative approach when working alongside participants, families and allied health professionals
  • Current driver's licence suitable for regional community travel
