Job summary

Mounties Group is seeking compassionate casual in-home Support Workers to assist a client in Burleigh Waters, Queensland, delivering person-centred dementia care and practical daily support. You will help with personal care, companionship, meal preparation and light housework, while promoting independence and safety in the home.

Shifts range from 3 to 10 hours, offering flexible casual work and meaningful community care. Experience with dementia and a Certificate III in IS desirable.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is essential.
• Experience in aged care, home care, community care, or disability support.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) is desirable.
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach to care.
• Current First Aid & CPR, NDIS check and Police check or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respite care and in-home support.
• Support a client living with advanced dementia using a person-centred approach.
• Assist with personal care including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Provide companionship and social engagement.
• Assist with meals and light household duties.
• Monitor wellbeing and report changes to the care team.
• Encourage independence while ensuring safety and dignity.
• Collaborate with family and care team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Mounties Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Casual in home Support Workers to provide support for a client living in Burleigh Waters, Queensland.

This role involves supporting a client living with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's disease and requires someone who is patient, understanding, and experienced in delivering person-centred dementia care.

We are looking for support workers who can assist with a variety of shifts ranging from 3 to 10 hours in duration, depending on client needs and your availability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexible casual work while making a meaningful difference.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality respite care and support in the client's home
• Supporting a client living with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's using a calm, reassuring, and person-centred approach
• Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Providing companionship and social engagement
• Supporting community access, including outings and recreational activities
• Assisting with meal preparation and light household duties
• Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns
• Encouraging independence while maintaining the client's safety, dignity, and comfort
• Working collaboratively with family members and the care team

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease (essential)
• Experience in aged care, home care, community care, or disability support
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) – desirable
• A caring, patient, and compassionate approach to care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage behaviours associated with dementia in a calm and professional manner
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
• Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses)
