Job summary

Silverchain is looking for a Registered Nurse to support older Australians in their own homes, with travel across Taree, Forster and surrounding areas. This part-time role involves 2 weekdays (Mon & Thu ideally) and focuses on wound, catheter and chronic disease care within a supportive team.

You will work autonomously in the community, while collaborating with a caring team, and enjoy competitive salary packaging options as part of Silverchain’s flexible approach to home care.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in nursing.
• Current Registration with the AHPRA.
• Experience in community/nurse in aged care preferred.
• Driver's licence required.
• Compassion and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound, stoma, bowel care and catheter care (SPC + IDC).
• Apply advanced clinical assessment skills for chronic disease management.
• Administer medications and injections.
• Deliver nursing care to clients in their homes to a high standard.
• Use clinical judgement to plan and coordinate care with families and clinicians.

What we’re looking for

To be considered for this role, you will need the following:

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in nursing.
• 2+ years post-graduate, with broad experience in general nursing.
• Current Registration with the AHPRA, with zero notations.
• Genuine interest in working in the community and with the aged population (experience an advantage).
• Compassion and enthusiasm, with a friendly approach.
• Strong experience in wound and catheter care, and chronic disease management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with families and other clinicians.
• Australian driver's licence.
