Uniting NSW.ACT invites applications for an Occupational Therapist to support older adults to remain safe, independent, and confident at home in Western Sydney, Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains regions. This community-based role involves functional assessments, practical interventions, and reablement-focused support.

The position offers autonomy in a values-led not-for-profit setting, with salary packaging up to $18,550 and a travel reimbursement at 88 cents per kilometre (first 5,000km tax-free).

Qualifications

• Bachelor qualification in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Current Australian driver licence and access to a vehicle.
• Experience in aged care or community health is welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete home-based functional assessments and consider mobility, cognition and daily routines.
• Deliver falls prevention and reablement-focused interventions.
• Recommend home modifications, assistive technology and equipment.
• Support clients living with dementia or changing health needs with person-centred OT input.
• Educate families and carers to embed safety and independence strategies.
• Maintain clear documentation and collaborate with clients and clinical teams.
