Job summary

Encara is seeking an Occupational Therapist to partner with clients in the community, delivering person-centred care and functional assessments. You will prescribe assistive equipment, conduct home modifications, and support falls prevention to empower clients to thrive in spaces they love.

Qualifications

• Registered with AHPRA or eligible for registration.
• Experience delivering client-centered occupational therapy in community/home-based settings.
• Ability to prescribe assistive devices and home modifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional assessments in clients' homes.
• Prescribe assistive technology and equipment (e.g., shower chairs, mobility aids).
• Conduct home assessments and recommend safety/accessibility modifications.
• Support falls prevention and risk management.
• Develop strategies to improve functional independence and participation.
• Coach clients to build routines for home, work and community participation.
• Educate clients, families and carers.

• Completing functional assessments in clients’ homes;
• Recommending and prescribing assistive technology and equipment, such as shower chairs, mobility aids and other supports.
• Completing home assessments and recommending modifications to improve safety, accessibility and independence.
• Supporting clients with falls prevention and risk management.
• Developing individualised strategies to improve functional independence and participation.
• Supporting clients to develop skills and routines that enable greater participation in home, work and community activities.
• Providing advice and education to clients, families and carers.
