Job description

About Nimbus Health

Nimbus Health exists to empower older Australians to reclaim independence without ever leaving home. By combining best-practice allied health care with seamless coordination, we remove the barriers that too often stand between our clients and the care they need.

Since our founding, we’ve grown across Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Sydney yet our north-star remains unchanged: compassionate, accessible care that keeps people right where they belong at home. We partner closely with clients, families and home care providers to deliver evidence-based services that prioritise lasting wellbeing and quality of life.

As we expand our service offering to include dedicated community nursing services, we are building a team of passionate and experienced clinicians who share our commitment to improving health outcomes for individuals in their homes and communities. We are now seeking a Community Nursing Lead to help us establish and scale this new service offering.

The Opportunity

The Community Nursing Lead will be responsible for the development, implementation and leadership of Nimbus Health’s community nursing services from the ground up. This role will lead the design of clinical frameworks, establish governance structures, set the standards that will define how we deliver nursing care in the community and help to build a high-performing nursing team.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, this is a hands-on clinical role. The Community Nursing Lead will actively deliver nursing services in the community, providing high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their homes. This ensures a strong connection to frontline service delivery, informs decision-making, and sets the clinical standard for the broader team.

As the clinical and operational lead for nursing, you will be working closely with the Directors, CTO, Head of Care Coordination, and other key stakeholders in the company. You will work to ensure our nursing services are safe, evidence-based, compliant, aligned with organisational objectives and seamlessly integrated within the broader Nimbus Health ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Service Delivery
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to clients in their homes across the community
  • Conduct clinical assessments, develop care plans, and provide interventions in line with best practice
  • Build strong relationships with clients, families, and care teams to support positive health outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements
  • Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating best practice and setting the standard for nursing care delivery
Service Design & Launch
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Nimbus Health's community nursing service model
  • Develop and operationalise clinical policies, procedures, protocols, and care pathways in line with best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure safe, high-quality and compliant nursing practice
  • Contribute to the development of technology-enabled care workflows in collaboration with the CTO and Care Coordination team
Clinical Oversight & Quality
  • Maintain clinical oversight of nursing practice across all community service areas, while remaining actively engaged in frontline care
  • Lead clinical governance activities including incident reviews, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and evaluate client outcomes, implementing improvements based on data, feedback, and frontline insights
  • Ensure all nursing services comply with AHPRA standards, relevant legislation, and Nimbus Health policies
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead from the front as a hands-on clinician, setting expectations for quality, professionalism, and client-centred care
  • Be involved in the recruitment, onboarding, and management of a team of community nurses, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassionate care
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and performance support to nursing staff
  • Build team capability through ongoing education, professional development, and reflective practice
  • Establish clear role frameworks, expectations, and career pathways for nursing staff
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across technology, operations and care coordination to ensure integrated, seamless care for clients
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align service delivery with strategic priorities and service growth
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders as required
Service Growth and Optimisation
  • Identify opportunities to expand and enhance service offerings
  • Contribute to strategic planning and scaling of nursing services
  • Support innovation and continuous improvement across the service
About You

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and clinical supervision
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to balance clinical service delivery with leadership and operational responsibilities
