Job summary

SA Health is seeking a Casual Clinical Nurse - Community Midwife to cover Naracoorte and the Limestone Coast. You will provide midwifery care to women, babies and families, including prenatal, postnatal and neonatal assessments and home visits.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, educate families, and support students and less experienced staff while contributing to continuity of care in a regional health network.

Qualifications

• Be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
• Have at least three years full-time equivalent post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
• Demonstrate competence in nursing/midwifery practice and contemporary standards of care.
• Demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Have experience providing leadership and direction to students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses/midwives.

Responsibilities

• Provide proficient, person-centred midwifery care to women, babies and families within Naracoorte and upper Limestone Coast.
• Undertake prenatal, postnatal and neonatal assessments and investigations, including home visits.
• Support mothers and babies after birth and provide health education and ongoing care.
• Lead and support students and less experienced staff in a multidisciplinary team.
