Job summary

Lifestyle Communities Limited is seeking a skilled Community Operations Accountant for our Southbank office in Melbourne. You will deliver accurate financial reporting across the community portfolio, manage month-end processes, budgeting and forecasting, and support statutory reporting with strong controls and practical insights.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience in management accounting or financial accounting.
• Strong month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• Experience analysing financial results and driving key performance drivers.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP/financial reporting systems.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience in property, retirement living, multi-site operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Month-end accounting and management reporting for the community portfolio.
• Prepare and review monthly profit and loss and other management reporting.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Develop understanding of drivers of community performance.
• Identify trends and opportunities; communicate to Senior Finance partner and stakeholders.
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasts for the community portfolio.
• Finance checks over home settlements including sale price, deposits and settlements.
• Ensure settlement transactions are reflected in financial records.
• Assist with half-year and year-end statutory reporting.
• Prepare schedules, reconciliations and analysis for external audit.
• Maintain strong financial controls across community accounting and reporting processes.
• Improve financial capability by making information clear and commercially relevant.
